PAHO Situation Report No. 6, Measles in the Americas Region (2 July 2026). Between epidemiological week 1 and week 25 of 2026 (through 27 June), the Americas region reported 22,974 confirmed measles cases and 39 deaths across 17 countries and territories, an 181% increase over the same period in 2025. Mexico reported 11,820 cases and 16 deaths, concentrated mainly in Jalisco, Ciudad de Mexico, and Chiapas; the trend is declining, with the most recent death recorded in week 23.
